The Area solo represents a key milestone in a pilot’s training
The Royal Newcastle Aero Club has a long and proud history, with it’s beginnings back in 1928.
Over the years, the club has operated a range of aircraft with the clubs current fleet consisting of Cessna 152’s, a Cessna 172 a Cessna 182T, a Piper Archer, a DH-82 Tiger Moth and our latest addition a multi engine Partenavia P68.B
RNAC also operates a modern Elite AT-11-i synthetic trainer, upgraded with a visuals package providing photo-realistic imagery through a 120⁰ field of view of any operating area within Australia and New Zealand. It is approved by CASA as a Category B device – allowing aeronautical experience credits for PPLs, CPLs, NVFRs, Instrument ratings, IPCs, and IR recency as well as all instrument approach types. All club aircraft are maintained to the highest standards by onsite CASA certified engineers.

Royal Newcastle Aero Club is a CASR Part 141 Recreational, Private and Commercial Certified Flight Training School
RNAC takes safety very seriously and utilises a CASA approved safety management system to ensure our focus is always on safety outcomes. Part 141 of CASR prescribes the requirements and standards for issuing Part 141 flight training authorisations. It specifies requirements and standards for flight training, including those relating to training facilities, aircraft, procedures, management systems, standards/manuals, and personnel/safety operations for training relating to recreational, private and commercial pilot flight training.
